FOTOFIX NOW

For many years I have been involved with music in a teaching capacity and playing professionally.....from brass bands in the beginning and then onto big bands and freelancing.
In my early teens I was given a old camera by a neighbour , so here my photography journey started. Very much experimental and the pictures weren't that great, and it was cold...it was the horrendous Winter of 1963.   I dabbled for a few years more, but struggled to get to grips with composition etc. The camera came out only on special occasions as my music ambitions took preference.
In 2003 I began to learn computer skills after retiring from teaching and gradually my interest in photography returned with the inauguration of the "Digital Age" along with processing software.
I have amassed a huge collection of photographs which includes many photographs from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries which have needed much restoration.
Not wanting to become a couched potato I have channelled what energy I have left into occasional photography and, as you will see here, photo restoration.
I work on a non profit basis, so, I thought it would be uplifting as well as therapeutic to engage with photography and use my remaining skills to use the profits for donation to my charities.
